Melting..

Well, all the snow has already pretty much melted. It's supposed to rain tonight, so it will definitely be gone by tomorrow. Hopefully it won't flood too bad here, because the river was already really high!

We had a pretty quiet day today. Did a little coloring with Sweetpea and played with Noah. I wanted to post a picture of Sweetpea and I swimming the other day. She's wearing her new bikini, which is super cute!!

Is it Christmas again??

We woke up and there were about 2-3 in. of snow on the ground!! Aaron took a picture of the street this morning - crazy! We had a really nice weekend - even though the weather was not so nice. Friday night, Aaron and I went out to a really nice dinner while Sweetpea visited her friend Addy. It was a nice dinner out - we spent the gift card we had won at the church pancake breakfast. Then Saturday, since Aaron couldn't golf in the yucky weather, we went shopping for new appliances. We ended up finding a pretty good deal, so next Saturday we have a new dishwasher, refrigerator, and stove coming! I'm very excited to be upgrading the appliances - let's just hope they all fit in their designated areas.

Sweetpea has been walking a lot lately! She kept walking from the couch to the chair all day. Here' s a little video of her walking since my sister, Heather, said she wanted more video of her walking!

Prunes, prunes, everywhere!!

Sweetpea is still walking a lot - she wants to walk everywhere it seems! Yesterday, Sweetpea and I went swimming with some of her friends. We went to a new pool that was warm water and it was fun. They had a couple fountains and Sweetpea liked putting her hand through the cascading water. We had to leave after awhile, though, because Sweetpea was so tired she was falling asleep in my arms in the water.

This morning I was getting ready to feed Sweetpea her breakfast. I heated up some prunes and added applesauce. I picked it up to start feeding her and somehow it flew out of my hand. There were prunes EVERYWHERE!! It made a royal mess. Luckily, Monica was there because she had just dropped Noah off so she helped distract Noah for awhile and finished feeding Sweetpea for me. What a mess, though. Luckily, the rest of the day went pretty smoothly. Here's a picture of Sweetpea reading one of Aaron's golf magazines tonight.

Walking!

We had a busy weekend! Nana and Phil came to visit Friday night. On Saturday, Aaron and Phil went golfing while Nana babysat Sweetpea. I had a garage sale and ended up selling most of Sweetpea's old clothes - which was ALOT, and she's only 11 1/2 months old!! :) Then we did a little shopping and watched the NCAA games - GO MIZZOU! It was a very nice visit!
Here's a little video of Sweetpea taking some steps today! She's getting very confident. Today, while drinking from her sippy she started walking at the same time. I was so nervous she would fall, but she stayed up and took about 5 steps.

Play date!

Sweetpea has been wanting to walk a lot today. She can still only take a few steps at a time, but she seems to think she can do more. :)

We had a playdate at the house today. Two of Sweetpea's friends came over and Noah was here, too. They all had a good time playing together.

Here is a picture of Sweetpea where you can see her teeth really well. (She's also wearing a Denver Broncos sticker to support daddy's team!) Still no teeth on the top, but I think they may be coming because she's been getting crankier lately.

St. Patty's

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Sweetpea had a great first St. Pat's. I took her and Noah downtown to the St. Pat's day parade this morning. They had a lot of fun and the weather was wonderful! I did forget to put sunscreen on them so we had to stand in the shade for awhile. They didn't want to watch the parade most of the time, until one of the floats shot off some green and white confetti. Then their eyes were glued on the parade. They also liked the music from the school bands. I wore them out, though. As soon as we hit the car to come back home, Sweetpea was asleep! They wore me out, too! :)

Sweetpea took a couple steps again today. Still not 100% confident, but we're getting there. Here's a picture of her playing under the kitchen table today - one of her new favorite spots. She wore her green turtle outfit today so she wouldn't get pinched!

Pancakes

We had a pancake breakfast at church this morning - YUM! They had green pancakes, too, for St. Pat's day! Aaron was sharing his pancakes with Sweetpea and she really liked them. What's even more exciting is that we actually won something in the raffle this year - a gift card to a nice restaurant in town! Looking forward to that.
Aaron got some golfing in this weekend with the nice weather. It was a little cold for me, but it didn't bother Aaron!
Sweetpea has been pushing her walker around a lot lately. We've been trying to get her to walk without it and she did take a few steps by herself on Saturday. That was exciting! But, she still prefers the walker. It's kind of funny, because she's not very good at steering yet, so lately when she runs into something and can't keep walking, she'll just keep ramming the walker forward in hopes that it'll move. Here's a little video of her walking.

Cold Again...

It's been pretty cold here so we're stuck inside again. Yesterday I took Sweetpea to a playdate at a local church. They open it up and put out some toys for kids to run around and play with. She had a lot of fun and this time she was able to play more on the equipment and crawl around on stuff. Before when we've gone she was just able to sit in one spot or play in the exersaucer. She had lots of fun with daddy while I was at work last night. He took some pictures of her posing with her hat on - so I am including one of her poses! :)

Only one month...

Today is Sweetpea's 11 month birthday! I can't believe in a month she'll be a year old!! We've been pretty busy the past couple days. Monday I took Noah and Sweetpea to Rainbow where they can play on swingsets. I thought they had infant seats on the swingsets, but I guess they had recently removed them so they didn't really have anything for them to play on. Luckily, there was a green balloon there that the kids found really fascinating, and then they found basketballs to play with. We didn't stay too long, but at least it got us out of the house for awhile.

Then today, on a very rainy day, we made some music with the pots and pans. I have attached a picture of Sweetpea making some music!

She's been chatting a lot lately. Sometimes it sounds like she's saying "That", but I don't know where she would have gotten that. Aaron has been saying "thank you" a lot to her, so I wonder if she's trying to say that. Also, today she picked up the elephant and I think she said "giraffe." I guess mom is not doing a very good job of teaching her! :)

Bad Hair Day!

When Sweetpea woke up this morning her hair was EVERYWHERE! I had to get a picture! Aaron said she's really gonna love that we did this when she's older. I think this could be a picture to show her future boyfriends! :)

Well, mom and dad had date night last night, which was nice. And, I think Sweetpea had fun with her friend Addy. We went to dinner and a movie - very low key.

Today we didn't do much of anything. We bought some new furniture for the downstairs from one of my friends, so they brought that over today. It's nice to have a couch downstairs instead of our uncomfortable futon.

Sweetpea has been into waving a lot lately and she was talking up a storm today! I hear many different sounds now, not just "dada." I can't understand any of it, but I know she's saying something. Don't forget to turn the clocks forward - hopefully Sweetpea will sleep a little longer in the morning!

Paint the Town Red!

So, if you thought I was crazy for giving the kids crayons, you will think I am insane for finger painting today!! :) I took some vanilla pudding and put food coloring in it so the kids could finger paint. What a mess! Surprisingly, though, it didn't go right in the mouth - it actually went on the paper. I think Sweetpea really liked it, too. She definitely got her dad's artistic genes. I am attaching a little video of her working and a picture of her final masterpiece!

Artist

Today Noah and Sweetpea practiced writing with a crayon. It took awhile for them to realize what they were holding and Sweetpea kept wanting to eat it, but I got a little artwork out of them. Here is one of Sweetpea's pieces - looks like a triangle!

She has been sleeping a little better the last couple days and even slept until 7 this morning!! That was very nice! Although right now she is still up, but maybe that means she'll sleep in again tomorrow - wishful thinking, I know!

In like a lion...

I can't believe it's March already! I know I've been slacking a little on the blog - sorry. We had a good weekend. Friday night we babysat for a friend with a 10 mo. old girl like Sweetpea. They had lots of fun together. We may have them babysit next weekend for Sweetpea so we can go out on a date night!

Then last night our friends had us over with some other couples for dinner. It was lots of fun and the food was delicious! Luckily for us, too, Sweetpea had taken an afternoon nap on Saturday so she wasn't ready for bed at 6:30 like usual. She actually stayed up until almost 10! Once we hit the car, though, she was out! We must have really worn her out last night because she took almost a 3 hour nap today.

Here' s a video of her at lunch today; she was making funny faces at me! :)
