Grilling

I grilled for the first time tonight all by myself! It was very exciting. I also made mashed potatoes from scratch for the first time! They were pretty good, but my father-in-law still makes the best mashed potatoes! :)
We had a fun day today - Noah enjoyed pushing around Sweetpea's new toy. Here is a little video of Sweetpea showing off her fine motor skills. She was so focused on this activity that she wouldn't look over at me!

Back Home

This weekend we traveled to KC to see my grandpa and family. My Grandma's memorial was today, so we weren't there for that, but I'm glad that we were able to go visit for the weekend and see everyone, and I know everyone enjoyed seeing Sweetpea!

Today I've been running around doing laundry and grocery shopping. All day Sweetpea has been standing up on stuff and then letting go and just standing up without holding on. She's getting awfully close to walking, but when I tried to get her to walk to me she would just fall into me. Aaron really wanted to give her this push toy we got her for her birthday and I finally gave in tonight. So, I took a video of her walking with her push toy. I guess I'll have to find something else to give her for her birthday! :)

Great Grandma E.

Sweetpea's Great Grandma E. passed away this morning. She will be greatly missed, but I know she is going to be in heaven with no pain. Here is a picture of her with the family at Thanksgiving - Sweetpea always seemed very relaxed in her arms! We love you, Grandma!! :)

2 teeth!

I see 2 teeth coming in on the bottom now! Unfortunately, they seem to be coming VERY slowly - but I do see little white tops. They must be bothering her because the last couple days she has been sucking her thumb a lot more and cuddling up to mom and dad more than usual.

Sweetpea has been waving a lot lately! She's also getting a lot better about going to the babysitting room at Jazzercise. I didn't hear her screaming at all today while I was working out - which was a nice relief!

Here's a picture of Sweetpea in her new valentine's shirt from great Nana and Reah. I don't think she's going to be a model because she's not much for posing - this was the best we could do! :)

Also, if everyone reading this can please keep my Grandma E. in their prayers that would be appreciated. Have a great Friday!

Happy Valentine's!

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's day! Sweetpea's grandma and grandpa E. came to visit this weekend. They babysat for us Saturday night so we could go out for a valentine's dinner. We had a great time - we went to a marriage mass and renewed our vows, then went to dinner at a winery nearby, and afterwards decided to go see a movie since we had babysitters, which never happens! I think grandma and grandpa had lots of fun with Sweetpea as well!

Here are a couple pictures - one of Sweetpea with her grandpa E. and then one of her with her new Valentine's pajamas from Nana W.

Enjoy the holiday tomorrow - hopefully no one has to work. (well, no one except Aaron :))

Feels like Spring!

It is beautiful here! We went for a long walk today and it was sooo nice getting outside with the kids. We even went down by the swingsets after our walk because I wasn't ready to go back inside. So, I let Noah swing in the baby swing and I swung with Sweetpea on my lap (since they only have one baby swing). It was great! I wish it was going to last. :(
Dad is at poker night tonight so it's just me and Sweetpea. She slept late this morning, which was a nice change for me. Let's hope she sleeps late tomorrow, too!
Tomorrow we are going to go swimming with one of Sweetpea's friends from our mom group. It should be fun. And, it turns out that dad is going to be working there tomorrow because he's filling in for someone, so we'll get to see him when we're done swimming!
Here's a little video of Sweetpea standing up, which she has to do all the time now! She tries to pick up the golf ball, but gives up. She is getting good at picking stuff up from the ground while she is standing, though.

Teeth, maybe?

Okay, I know I've said the teeth are coming before, but this time I really think I see one starting up. It looks like a little tooth is starting to pop up in the bottom left side. And Sweetpea has been rubbing her tongue over that spot with a confused look so I think she feels something too. Hopefully this will explain the lack of napping lately and maybe we can get back into a good nap schedule soon. The last two days she has taken a 45 min. nap during the day - maybe! It has made for a long couple of days for mom without any breaks. But, she has taken good naps today, so maybe it was the teeth bothering her.

She has also been making me exercise like crazy because she really likes going over to daddy's plant and standing up on it since it's her size. Then she likes to put her hands in the dirt and try to eat it. So, I have to keep running over to pull her away from that. I take her back to the living room with all her toys and she races back over to the plant, so I have to get up and get her again. I guess she's telling me I need more exercise. I think I'm going to have daddy put his plant downstairs tonight!

Today Sweetpea was standing up on the rocker in her room while I was sitting in it. She then bent down and picked up a book and handed it to me to read to her! It was very cute and I look forward to her doing it many more times! :)

Here is a picture of Sweetpea with a bow in her hair. I put that in to kind of get a visual for you so you can see how much hair she has now - it is poking up from the bow! Have a great weekend!

p.s. Christi - Sweetpea said she can't stop growing, but maybe you should move closer so you could visit more often! :) Although, it will be hard to get you away from sunny Cali!

Free Breakfast!

We were going to go get our free grand slams from Denny's this morning, but we didn't get moving as quickly as we had expected! And then we saw on the news how crazy it was, so we decided to stay in. Aaron said he'd make me a grand slam on Saturday morning - we'll see!

This weekend we went to a game night on Saturday night. It was lots of fun and Sweetpea lasted quite awhile. We stayed until about 9, and then she slept on the way home and continued sleeping, luckily! I think we probably wore her out.

Then Sunday we just laid around all day and watched the superbowl that night. It was a really good game near the end - but I'll admit I didn't really watch any of it until the end even though I was in the room! The game got Sweetpea so excited that she didn't go to sleep until close to 9! I don't know why she wants to be such a night owl lately, but I wish it would also involve sleeping in, which it doesn't.

Last night she had her first bath in the real tub instead of her rubber ducky tub. I think she liked it, but she kept trying to stand up and she can't on the tub because it's so slippery. She just wants to always be standing right now!

Here's a picture of her standing up by her toys, getting ready to pull them out one at a time! :) Can you see how confident she is getting by holding on now with one hand!
