Golfer in training!

Daddy brought his putter and golf balls upstairs yesterday and Sweetpea has really been enjoying them! She carried the golf ball around all day, even while she was crawling! I think she's going to have a lot of fun golfing with daddy when she's older!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, been busy here this week! I had Bunco at my house Tuesday, but it ended up just as a game night because not enough people showed up. But my friends that showed up and I had fun anyway. Wednesday I hosted a playdate at our house and there were 6 kids (including Sweetpea!) running around! Really 2 of them were itty bitties that just stayed put, but the rest of them were running around. That was fun. At first, Sweetpea was a little confused about why all these kids were in her living room, but then she began to like the idea.

I also joined Jazzercise this week because they had a really good deal going. So, I've been trying to go in the mornings while they have babysitting available. Sweetpea is not used to being in a babysitting situation, though, (our fault totally!) so it's been a little hard on her. Today the babysitter put her up to the window, though, so she could look out and see me and that seemed to help a little. Hopefully that stranger anxiety goes away soon!

Here is a short video of Sweetpea feeding herself tonight. Dad was letting her hold the spoon and put it in her mouth and she did pretty good with minimal mess!

Party Time!

Sweetpea went to her first birthday party today! One of her friends from the mom's group turned 1 so she had a birthday party. It was lots of fun - there are tons of toys at this house so Sweetpea was having fun playing with everything. I didn't give her any cake, but she seemed okay with that. She even got some presents in a gift bag. The theme was princesses so she got a mirror, comb, and a little star wand. Lots of fun.

Last night she had babysitters - her godparents! They had lots of fun together while mom and dad went to see Toby Mac!! There was a Christian music fest that we went to and it was lots of fun!! Earlier that day I let Noah and Sweetpea listen to some Toby Mac, and I have a video of her dancing to the music! She really liked it - I can't wait until she is old enough to go to a concert with me! Although, there were some really little ones there last night - I couldn't believe it.

I am also putting on a picture of her doing one of her favorite things - slobbering all over the back window! Hope you are all having a great weekend!!

Back to work...

Today was my first day back to teaching (just my one night a week class). I was getting used to having Wednesday nights free. It looks like it will be a good class, though, except I have quite a few students in there who say they hate math, so I will have to work extra hard to make it fun! :)

Sweetpea and I went to meet some other kids today - there is a new meetup starting for kids 18 mo. and younger, so it will be more kids her own age. It's funny, though, because there are two other kids with the same name as her! Popular name. We met at the mall, so they couldn't really run around much, but there are some meetups coming up at people's houses so that will be more fun for the kids.

Sweetpea is really starting to get around. She is also putting EVERYTHING in her mouth! I've caught her a couple times with gunk from the floor in her mouth - I have to keep a close eye on her! She finds the smallest things, too.

Here are a couple pics of her today. She wore her ribbon outfit again and got many compliments from the other moms! :) I want to put the pic of her and her dad just 'cause it's funny - daddy was taking it as you can tell.

So many toys!

We had a really quiet weekend here - didn't do much at all. But, that was nice actually. We went to a new pizza place Saturday night. Today we went to church, but other than that we just stayed around the house. Aaron did a little cleaning and rearranging in the living room. He moved the furniture with the baskets, so now all the toys are in the living room in a laundry basket. I have a feeling I'm going to be picking up a lot tomorrow because Sweetpea likes to pull all the toys out of the laundry basket one by one. I took a little video of her playing with her toys - and you can hear her babbling and screaming!

Daddy's girl

So, it's been snowing and COLD here! Almost all the schools around here were canceled today except Dist. 150, of course! I was soooo glad I didn't have to go in to work. They are canceled tomorrow, though, because it's supposed to be a high of 1 degree!! I'm hoping Kindermusik is canceled, too, because I don't really want to take Sweetpea out tomorrow. Daddy still has to go to work, though. :(

I think Sweetpea is going to be a daddy's girl because so far all she has said is "dadadadada." I tried to get her to say mommy today but she kept saying dada.

She has begun to pull up to standing - look out!! Now I really have to keep an eye out! Here is a video of her pulling up to standing. We also took a pic of her looking at all the snow.

Go Rivermen!!

Sweetpea went to her first hockey game tonight. She actually did pretty well - I could tell she really wanted to crawl around and be let loose, though. But, she made it through the whole game which is good. Unfortunately, the Rivermen lost 4-3. Close game near the end!

Friday Sweetpea wore her new outfit from Aunt Katie - and here is a picture we got of her. She loved playing with the ribbon on the bottom of her pants, as did Noah! :) She looked very cute!!

Video, at last

I know I haven't put any videos on for awhile, so I got a little one today. I was trying to get Sweetpea pulling herself up, but as soon as the camera got pointed on her, she'd quit. So, really this is just her clapping - but prior to the video she was trying to pull up on the gate.
We had a good day today - finally went back to Kindermusik. We've had 3 weeks off so it was nice going to that class again. I think Sweetpea missed her friends! It's funny to see how they have all grown, too. Many of them are walking now and Sweetpea was crawling around.

Pretty in Pink

So, Sweetpea has not been sleeping that great since Friday. Only one night did she sleep through the night! AHHHH!! I hope those teeth come soon!

Today she had her 9 month checkup. Weighing in at 19 lb. 7 oz.! Luckily we didn't have to get any shots this visit, which was nice.

After her appointment we came back home and played a little. Then Sweetpea took a 2 hour nap, which was much needed since yesterday she didn't take any naps (except about 20 min. on my stomach)!

Here' s a picture of me and Sweetpea wearing our pink today. I found the St. Louis cap on clearance at Toys R Us and had to get it so she could match her daddy! The nurses loved her pink poodle sweater!!

Teeth?

Sweetpea woke up last night at 1:30! I am not used to her getting up in the middle of the night, so that was rough. I don't know if the teeth are finally starting to come or if it was just a rough night for her. Luckily she went back to bed after eating and change of diaper. And, she slept then until 7:30, which was nice.

Today was a pretty quiet day. We went to the mall and I spent some more of my Christmas money, which was nice. They didn't have as much a selection as I was hoping for b/c spring stuff is coming in soon, so I guess I will have to go back and spend the rest of my money next week. Shucks! :)

Aaron spent some of his christmas money at Lowe's and bought shelving stuff, which he then used to build shelves in the crawl space downstairs. He's been on a cleaning/organizing spree lately!

Happy New Year!!

Well, Sweetpea celebrated her first new year's! :) She actually was up last night at about 10:45. I went in to check on her before going to bed and when I looked in her crib she was wide-eyed looking up at me, so I knew if I left she would start crying, which she did. So, I took her out and fed her, then put her back down. Luckily, she did go to sleep! Then, after the ball dropped in NY her dad and I went to sleep too! Lame, I know.

The past year has been great to us as Sweetpea is proof of! Hopefully this new year will be just as good to us and all of you!

So far it has been great - we slept in a little this morning (7:45!), went to church, did a little shopping as a family, and then I got to go shopping by myself for a little bit while daddy and Sweetpea played at home. It was fun spending some of my Christmas money!

Here is a picture of Sweetpea this morning playing under the jumperoo - she really enjoys crawling under things! And, she is starting to pull herself up now which is keeping us busy b/c she doesn't yet know how to lift up so there have been a few falls. Hopefully she learns quickly so there are not too many falls!
