Christmas is coming!

I can't believe Christmas is this week! We finally got our Christmas shopping done this weekend. Sweetpea was pretty good on our trip, and even took a little nap in her stroller. Here's a picture of her and daddy on the carousel.

Then, I began making my cookies on Sunday and Sweetpea helped me with the frosting. As you can see, some of it also made it to her mouth! On Sunday, we also went sledding. Sweetpea wasn't too sure about the snow, but I think she had fun. She didn't want to go back inside, anyway.

Jingle Bells!

Nana Wulff came to visit this past weekend with Aunt Dee. We had lots of fun! They brought Sweetpea a table and she loves it! Sweetpea also rode on the train at the mall again all by herself!

They have been singing Jingle Bells a lot at school lately, and so everytime I sing it Sweetpea does some sort of dance that they must do at school. Here is a video of her dancing

Miss Independent

We've been so busy and I can't believe Christmas is 2 weeks away!!! Tonight, Sweetpea spent a long time in the kitchen trying to get her shoes and her hat on. She actually ended up getting her shoes on all by herself!! She also got her hat on. She is so independent - she always wants to get things done by herself. Our little baby is getting so big!

Daddy let her touch the snow yesterday and she was very excited to see it snowing (just a little bit) today after daycare. I can't wait until we get more snow! Here's a video of Sweetpea getting her hat on all by herself!

little Climber

Sweetpea has been climbing on everything lately! We went to the park Saturday afternoon and she was climbing up the fake wall - just like a rock climber! Today in church she was trying to climb up the pew. We're going to have to keep our eyes on her!

We put up our Christmas tree today. Sweetpea has already started taking all the ornaments off, so now the tree is only decorated on the top half. She really likes pulling the ornaments off - especially the Care Bear one! Here's a video of her playing with the ornaments.

December is already filling up like crazy with parties and shopping, so I will probably not be updating this again until after the holidays. Things are just getting too crazy around here. If things calm down, I'll put something up, but just warning you that you may see very little activity for the next month. Thanks for keeping up with Sweetpea on here, though, and I will be back!! :)

It's beginning to feel like Christmas!

We had a holiday-like weekend! Saturday morning Sweetpea and I went to kindermusik for a free lesson. She had fun, but she did not care for sitting around in the circle. Her and one other boy were running around the whole time! At one point, she was climbing up on this cardboard box. She has become quite a climber lately - we really have to keep a closer watch on her now! Then Saturday afternoon we went to the mall for the lighting of the christmas tree. There were also free cookies and pics with Santa. Sweetpea didn't want to sit on his lap, so she sat on my lap and we got a picture. She doesn't look too happy, though, does she?

Earlier that day she took a little bit of a spill outside. She was running out into the street, so I was running after her to get her. She thought I was playing catch so she went faster and ended up tripping on the concrete. Got quite a big cut on her forehead. Not fun for anyone, but luckily it looks a lot better today!

Here's a video of Sweetpea playing with her new puzzle that Nana W. bought her last weekend - she's practicing her fishing skills so Grandpa E. can take her fishing soon!

Nana W.'s visit

Nana W. came to visit this weekend! Sweetpea had lots of fun and the weather was wonderful! We went out to the apple orchard on Saturday and they had tons of free samples for their Christmas open house, so that was fun taste testing everything! Sweetpea enjoyed trying to pet the goats. This morning we went to breakfast and church. Sweetpea took a long nap this afternoon because she was wiped out from Nana's visit! :)

Later, we went to the park and kept enjoying the great weather. Sweetpea really enjoys sliding now so we went down the slide over and over! Daddy taught her how to slide at home on the couch cushion. Here's a video of her riding her "slide" in the living room.

Trick or Treat

Sweetpea got to go out for her first trick or treat experience! Daddy and I took her around the block. At first she was kind of nervous and kept pulling the candy out of her bag to see what was going on. But, after a few houses she got the hang of it real quick and was running up to houses to get candy! At one house she even pulled out two pieces! By the end, her bag was so full she was dragging it along. I asked her if I could hold it for her and she said "no, no!"

Grandma and Grandpa Evans came to visit this weekend, too! Sweetpea had fun playing with them.

One of Sweetpea's favorite things is playing catch where we run after her! Tonight she started to try and chase us and "tickle" us! It was very cute to watch her try to sneak up on us!

Here is a picture of Sweetpea at her school Halloween party on Friday. She ended up wearing a tutu that they have in their dress up clothes there. This is also a video of her helping daddy carve the pumpkin.

Halloween Party

We went to a Halloween party this weekend! Sweetpea had lots of fun. At first she wasn't sure what to think of all the people dressed up but then she started to find stuff to play with and was running all over the place! We dressed up as USC fans and she got to sport her USC outfit.

We also got a pumpkin this weekend at the pumpkin patch. The ground was really muddy from all the rain Friday so we didn't play much, but Sweetpea enjoyed looking at all the pumpkins.

Sweetpea started saying her name this week and it's really cute! Whenever she sees herself in the mirror now she'll point and say her name! She also has been praying with us before we eat. She clasps her hands together while we say our prayer and waits very patiently!

We have a busy busy week ahead of us and Sweetpea's class is having a Halloween party Friday - lots of fun to be had! :)

Chi-Town weekend!

Sweetpea made her first trip to Chicago this weekend. She had lots of fun, too! We went to visit my friend, Reena. Sweetpea played all day Saturday and was very good, especially considering she didn't get a single nap that day! We went to the Shedd Aquarium and she loved seeing all the fish and other animals. Her leg has gotten much better, so she was running all over the place!
That night she got to see Aunt Christi for a little bit because she happened to be in Chicago at the same time. Today we came back and made a little stop in Bloomington on the way home to visit the mall. Sweetpea rode the carousel there and had a blast! She missed her pony at home, though, and was happy to be back. Here is a video and a picture of our trip to the aquarium this weekend.

Grandparent's Day!

Sweetpea had her first Grandparent's Day at school on Friday! Nana W. came up to sit with her in class. They had lots of fun. Here's a picture of Sweetpea and Nana at school.

The rest of the weekend we had fun visiting with Nana. The weather was cold, so we didn't go anywhere outside, but we played at home and went to Toys R Us, where Sweetpea really liked playing with the train set.

Sweetpea is walking a little bit better today, so we're hoping that the leg problem just heals itself since they haven't found anything else wrong. Hope everyone has a great Columbus Day tomorrow!

New words

Sweetpea has been saying lots of new words lately! The other day she started pointing at a picture of bubbles in one of her books and saying "bubble."

Grandma and Grandpa E. came to visit Saturday. They brought Sweetpea some new blocks that she has really enjoyed playing with! We had lots of fun visiting with them!

Unfortunately, Sweetpea's leg is starting to hurt again so we may be back to the doctor this week to see if we can find out anything new. We'll keep you updated.

Candy please!!

We had a very busy weekend!! Friday night Sweetpea went back to her daycare while mommy and daddy had date night. When we dropped her off she was excited to be back and got right into the toys! Saturday we did some garage saleing in the morning. Then that night we went to mass and then a chili supper for church. Today we had a cookout with one of my mom groups. Sweetpea had lots of fun with her sidewalk chalk. Daddy even let her play in the sand, which she also loved! Here's a picture of Sweetpea holding candy that Grandma and Grandpa E. sent. She is showing how mad she is that she can't have any! :)

sticker mania!

Here are a couple pictures of Sweetpea's sticker fun tonight!

Little Picasso

Sweetpea has been moving around a little bit more and she's walking a little on her leg now. So, we're guessing it was maybe a virus that is working its way out now. They didn't really find anything else. We have one more test result coming in tomorrow so we'll see for sure then if it's anything serious, but I'm just glad she's moving around now.
We went to the pumpkin festival this weekend and Sweetpea loved the pumpkin pancakes! She really wanted to ride the rides, but they weren't open yet when we were there. We did get to watch the parade go by which was fun.
Today Sweetpea has been a budding artist. She has been coloring in her coloring book and drawing with chalk on the sidewalk and on her easel. Unfortunately, she has also been coloring on the walls. I think our house is about to become very colorful! Right now she's playing with stickers and putting them all over her shirt and daddy's arm! Here's a video of Sweetpea saying "Hi" - her latest word!

poopy!!

Aunt Heather must have been telling Sweetpea some of her baby stories while she was here because Sweetpea pulled a stunt today that Heather did when she was a baby! I put Sweetpea down for a nap this afternoon and she kept talking, which she does sometimes. Then I heard Uh-oh, which is also normal. After awhile she started crying so I went in to check it out and she had gotten into her poopy diaper and there was poop all over her face, hands, body, crib...everywhere!! What a mess! I didn't get a picture because I was just in shock I think, but I'm sure you can imagine it! :)
Sweetpea has been having a rough couple of days with hospital visits to try and figure out what is wrong with her leg. She's been a real tough chick, though. Tomorrow we go in to try and get out some fluid and hopefully her leg will be back to normal. Please say some prayers for my little baby girl. Here's a video of her tonight playing with daddy.

Climbing like crazy!

Sweetpea learned how to climb up onto the ottoman, so now she gets into the big chair alot! She hasn't been able to get onto the couch yet, but I'm sure it's coming soon!

We went to the zoo yesterday and looked at all the animals. Sweetpea walked the whole route around the Africa exhibit! She really wanted to just watch the other kids, though. The animals weren't as interesting to her. :) Then we met daddy for lunch after he was done with golfing. We tried a new place called Qdoba and it was good!!

Today we closed up the pool and Sweetpea waved bye bye to the water until the summer. Here's a picture of Sweetpea last week one day after I picked her up from daycare. Her teacher does a really good job with her hair! Of course the ponytails were out by the time we got home.

Visit from Aunt Heather

We had a great visit with Aunt Heather! On Sunday we all went to the apple orchard. Sweetpea had lots of fun playing on the different vehicles (they have tractors, buses, and wooden firetrucks). She also rode on a pony for a little bit. We ate way too many sweets, though!

Today we went out for breakfast and then went to the Botanical Gardens and walked around for awhile. Sweetpea did not want her aunt to leave this afternoon! :)

Here is a video of her saying "Uh-Oh" at breakfast today.

Labor day weekend!

Finally, a long weekend! :) Aunt Heather is coming to visit today and we are very excited.

Sweetpea has been having lots of fun at daycare. She doesn't even hardly cry anymore when daddy drops her off. Instead she runs off to her toys and then turns to wave goodbye. They say she is doing a great job with signing. Although she's begun shaking her head no now at everything, even when she doesn't mean no. We are trying to get her to shake her head yes sometimes, too, but she likes to shake no.

I went to pick her up at daycare one day this week and I was looking out on the playground for her. I saw a girl that looked like her but the girl had pigtails and I know I didn't put those in Sweetpea's hair. But, it turned out that was Sweetpea! I guess during the day she kept pointing at another girl who had pigtails in her hair and then she'd point at her hair, so Miss Katie figured she wanted her hair done, which I guess she did! Of course by the time we got home she had pulled them out so I couldn't get a picture. Go figure!

Go go go...

I am enjoying being back at work, but it seems like we're always on the go!! We had a great time in Columbia last weekend visiting family and celebrating with Aaron's friend as he got married. It went really fast, though.

Sweetpea has been feeling a lot better lately. She's giving kisses all the time now! Here's a video of her giving a kiss. She also learned at daycare how to sign please. On the drive home this past weekend she also said "flower." It seems like almost every day now she is doing something new - it's very exciting!

Sick baby :(

Sweetpea has had a stomach virus for the last couple days. It started Thursday night and we thought she was getting better until tonight after dinner when she threw up everything we had tried to feed her. Poor baby. :( She picked a really bad time to get sick, though, because I start working again tomorrow so it's not really a day I can miss. So, we're hoping she's feeling better in the morning.

We had company this past week. My Aunt Kathy and Uncle Bruce came up with grandma and grandpa E. We had lots of fun going to a Chiefs game and keeping Sweetpea entertained! :)

Here's a picture of Sweetpea cuddling with her daddy today!

Hot Weekend!

It has been a really hot weekend! Luckily we had a pool party Saturday so that was good weather for that. Sweetpea slept through almost all of it, though. She took a 4 hour nap!!! When she did get up, she played a little with her water table, but didn't want to get into the pool. The water was still a little cold!

Sweetpea had fun seeing Noah again. He kept saying "Em-ma." It was very cute!

Today we went to Wildlife Prairie Park with some of her baby friends. They had a really good brunch that we enjoyed and then we walked around a little. But, it was really hot so we didn't stay too long. We took a quick train ride around the park. Here's a picture of Sweetpea on the train.

Big girl!

Tonight at dinner, Sweetpea used her fork by herself! We've been practicing a little and she's getting a lot better. At one point she used the fork to pick up four pieces of macaroni in a row! Then she went back to her fingers, but I was so proud!
She survived two full days of daycare while I was at meetings the last couple days. I felt bad because we had to wake her up in the mornings, but she seemed to do alright. On the car ride home tonight she kept talking about something - I guess she was telling me what she did with her friends at school. :) I taught her how to give kisses and she can blow kisses, but sometimes instead of putting her hand over her mouth she puts her hand over her head. We'll get it down!
Then tonight during bath time I looked in her mouth and saw that a new tooth had popped up! I didn't even notice it coming, but her right molar came in. She wouldn't let me look for others!
Here's a video of her using her fork tonight at dinner.
We're going to see Noah tomorrow morning for breakfast - it's been way too long! Sweetpea should have a good time seeing her buddy!

Shoes!!

Sweetpea had macaroni and beef tonight - what a mess! It was everywhere! I guess yesterday at daycare they did sponge painting. She put the sponge in the paint and then put it right in her mouth. YUCK! Needless to say there was some paint on her outfit. But, they said after they showed her how to do it she started painting the right way!

Today was water day at daycare so they got to play outside in baby pools. They said Sweetpea didn't really get into the water, though. She really enjoys this blue couch they have where she can read books.

We bought some new shoes for Sweetpea yesterday. Her feet grew a whole size bigger! I think she is a little obsessed with shoes, though, because she likes to play with any shoes she sees. Here's a video of her getting daddy's shoe and putting it on. She kept wanting to wear daddy's shoes this afternoon!

first day of daycare!

Sweetpea had a great time at daycare today! When I dropped her off she went right over to the toys and started playing. Then when I said goodbye she started to cry a little, but it didn't last too long. When I went to pick her up this afternoon she was eating snack and didn't even get out of her chair to greet me, she just waved and went right back to eating her goldfish! :) Then she wanted to play some more. Hopefully she remembers how much fun she had when we go back tomorrow! Here's a picture of her after daycare today. She's holding her school note that said what fun she had playing outside and with the shaker toys!

Back from Vacation!

We're back from Wisconsin. It's nice to be home, but vacation was really nice, too! We stayed at Fox Hills Resort and daddy got in lots of golf! We also got quite a bit of swimming in, which Sweetpea really enjoyed. Sweetpea is running everywhere now, which often leads to falling unfortunately. So her knees are all scabbed up. We had quite a few falls in Wisconsin, but they are looking a lot better now and we haven't had a big fall in awhile.

Sweetpea begins daycare tomorrow. I hope I'm ready for this! I just hope she doesn't cry too long because I think if she starts to play she'll find it's lots of fun! Here are a couple pictures from Wisconsin.

Beautiful day

The weather was really nice today. We took Sweetpea to the zoo - she had a blast. But, she would get really mad when we tried to put her in the stroller - she just wanted to run around the whole time. It makes me so nervous because she's getting really fast and confident now in her steps!

She slept until 8:00 this morning - how nice for mommy! I think she is still worn out from vacation.

Here's a picture Sweetpea is really going to love when she's a teenager! :)

Back Home

We have been busy! Aunt Katie's wedding was last weekend and it was wonderful! A very beautiful ceremony and a beautiful bride! Sweetpea had a blast running around and exploring all night. She was exhausted from the weekend, though. I think she's still catching up on sleep!

Sweetpea and I stayed with my parents for a few extra days and she got lots of grandparent time. We also went to visit great grandma and great grandpa Wieberg with Nana and cousin Nathan.

We got back home yesterday and Sweetpea was kind of sad, I think, because there was no dog at our house and she really loved playing with my parents' dog! They played catch and chase. Every day when she woke up she would say "dog" and point out into the hall in hopes of seeing Nyles. Here are some pictures from our mini vacation.

Head, shoulders, knees and toes

Sweetpea has been playing the song "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" repeatedly lately. She'll play it and then point right away to her head. We haven't yet gotten the other body parts down, but it's a start! She also found her nose today, and figured out quickly how to pick it. I'm sure I'll get a picture of it soon!
Here's another video from swimming this weekend. Enjoy!

Pool days

Yesterday was a really nice afternoon, so we decided to do some swimming. I chickened out and didn't get too wet because the water was pretty cold from all the rain lately, but Aaron did some swimming and Sweetpea got in for a little bit. She really enjoyed playing with these new squirt toys she got. Her and daddy played with them for a very long time. Here's a video of Sweetpea squirting daddy!

15 months old!

I realized earlier that Sweetpea turned 15 months old today - crazy! We have had a pretty uneventful couple of days. Wednesday it rained pretty much all day so our playdate was cancelled in the morning. Instead we decided to go over to the Rainbow store and Sweetpea played on the swingsets inside. We were the only people there, which was kind of nice not having to worry about bigger kids running her over!
Thursday we went for a walk in the morning along the river with some friends, which was really nice because it wasn't quite so hot yet. But, later that day it definitely heated up!
Today it rained all morning, so we didn't do much. But, tonight we went to dinner with daddy which was nice. Sweetpea definitely seems to like mexican food, which is a good thing in this family! We also went to the doctor today because Sweetpea has been coughing a lot lately, but the doc said she looks really good so we'll just have to wait for all this drainage to come out.
Here's a video of Sweetpea dancing - she's getting ready for Aunt Katie's wedding! :)

The sixth food group is....dirt!

We went to the park yesterday and Sweetpea grabbed a whole handful of dirt and stuffed it into her mouth before I could get to her! Yuck!! What a mess that was.

I'm thinking there's a growth spurt going on because it seemed like all she did today was eat. Sweetpea is one hungry little girl!! We went to storytime today at Borders. There were a lot of little kids there, which was neat. Sweetpea didn't listen much to the story, though. Instead she wanted me to chase her all over Borders - I definitely got some exercise in. They also gave the kids a little dixie cup of strawberry smoothie. Sweetpea gulped hers down in probably 5 seconds flat - I was so afraid she was going to get a brain freeze, but she just seemed to want more. :)

Here's a picture of Sweetpea giving one of her many "looks." She has been told by many people that she is a very expressive little girl!

Happy Fourth of July!

Today was Sweetpea's second fourth of July! Yesterday we celebrated with her godparents and other friends. We had a barbeque and then watched the fireworks from their deck - it was an awesome view! Sweetpea really enjoyed it and had no problems with staying up until 10:00! :) She even slept a little later this morning for me.

Daddy didn't get to golf very much this morning, though, because it was rainy. It's actually been raining all day. It's a good thing we watched the fireworks last night! Tonight, though, we went to another barbeque with some of Sweetpea's friends from my mom's group. Lots of good food and fun - actually, too much food!

Sweetpea got some new tennis shoes yesterday, so here's a picture of her today wearing her new kicks.

First haircut...sort of

Sweetpea got her first hair cut today - although it was just a trim of her bangs. We decided her bangs were getting too long, so daddy trimmed them up. She was great - and here's a picture of her with her new 'do! :)

We went to the zoo today with Noah. They had a great time. The goats scared Sweetpea a little because one goat was butting his horn on the fence. Scared me, too, actually! She has been feeling a lot better the last couple days and we're all finally getting some sleep around here! Here's a little video of Sweetpea riding her horse. I tried to get a better video, but this is all I could get for now. She really likes riding that horse, though. I think she's definitely going to be a cowgirl!!

Update

Sweetpea went to the doctor today and it looks like she has a virus. Her throat was very sore and her ears were red, so the doc is putting her on an antibiotic (it's the yummy pink stuff I remember as a kid!).

Hopefully she will be good as new soon!

Here's a picture that daddy took a couple days ago of Sweetpea riding her new pony from Nana Karen. She loves it - I think she's a wrangler in training!

Fever again...

Last night Sweetpea woke up around 11 with a 105 degree temp. This time we didn't feel like sitting in the ER for them to just give her motrin, so we gave her some and waited it out. Her temp did go down, but then she woke up at 5 again with a high temp, so we gave her some more medicine. It has been on and off today, so I'm going to try and get her in to see the doc tomorrow. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Here' s a picture of the sick Sweetpea cuddling with daddy.

New camera!

We finally got a new camera! I've been trying to figure it out, so sorry I haven't posted anything this week. Also, Nana is visiting this week so we've been busy! Wednesday I had all day meetings, so Nana and Sweetpea played together all day. Thursday we had a playdate at a local gym. Sweetpea had lots of fun playing with her friends - they had lots of balls, a trampoline, and a big bouncy toy to run through. That night, we took a dip in the pool since it was so hot! Today we went to the park in the morning and did some shopping this afternoon. Nana is also babysitting tonight so that daddy and I can go out for our 5 year anniversary!

Here's a couple pictures of Sweetpea this week.

Happy Father's Day!

Aaron had his second father's day today! It was quite an eventful one as we ended up going to the ER for most of the night. Sweetpea woke up last night with a really high temp. and she was struggling to breath so we decided to take her to the ER. We were there from 2 until 7!! For being the middle of the night in a strange place, she was a really good girl. She didn't like them taking her blood pressure, but I can't blame her. She also wanted to run around a little, but we hadn't grabbed her shoes in all the chaos, so she couldn't walk around. They weren't able to find anything wrong with her, so we just have to keep an eye on her temperature. When we got home, we all took a much needed nap. Then when she woke up her temp. was back, but after some food and tylenol it has stayed down for awhile. Let's hope tonight is not as eventful! Aaron did get a nice homeade card and present from Sweetpea so we were able to celebrate a little - and he enjoyed watching the U.S. Open, of course! Here's a picture of Sweetpea with her daddy.

HOT!

It has been sooo hot the last couple days! This afternoon we went swimming and it felt really good! Sweetpea had lots of fun - here's a picture of her in her float. It wore her out so much, though, that she's already in bed and it's only 6:30. I hope this doesn't mean that she's getting up at 6:30, but I'm afraid it probably does!

Rock Star

Sweetpea is definitely going to be a rock star! Here's a video of her playing with the drums from Rock Band - she was having lots of fun!
We went swimming today for the first time this summer. It was a perfect day for swimming. One of Sweetpea's friends came over and we got in the pool. At first the kids weren't too sure about the cold water, but they warmed up to it. And it took awhile, but Sweetpea finally got into her float and started to like it. When she went to bed tonight, daddy and I went swimming a little longer. I love summer!
Sweetpea and I also went to the zoo this morning - she definitely got her fair share of sun today! I tried to get pictures at the zoo, but the camera was not cooperating. Next time, hopefully.

100 posts!

This is my hundredth post - crazy!! Sweetpea was sooo cuddly today with Noah, it was the cutest thing ever! She kept going over and giving him hugs and this afternoon she even gave him kisses on his cheek. I told daddy and he wasn't too happy to hear that she's already kissing the boys! I tried to get a video of it and I apologize that it's so dark - this camera is definitely on its last leg.
Then we met up with daddy later in the afternoon at the mall. He was trying on some clothes at Old Navy and they have a little chair and table for kids to play at so she sat down there and started stacking up blocks to make a high tower. I was very impressed - she made a stack of 6 before they fell over! Pretty impressive since the tower was almost half as tall as she is.
Then I bought Rock Band for the Wii - Sweetpea and I might have to break that out tomorrow afternoon! :)

Falling Down

We had a great visit with family this weekend - it was a nice getaway! Sweetpea is definitely warming up to everyone. Unfortunately, she took a big spill this weekend and got a little wound on her forehead. Then, today she fell again and got another big bruise right next to her other wound. It scared mommy a lot, but she seems to be doing fine now. Of course, as soon as I got off the phone with daddy telling him about the bruise, she went for her play lawn mower and fell again - this time cutting her lip a little. Luckily, it didn't bleed very long or I probably would have lost it! I wish she could just become a perfect walker overnight! Wouldn't that be nice? Here's a picture of Sweetpea coloring on the driveway today with sidewalk chalk. She walked up the street and made a mark every couple feet - I guess marking a path so she could find her way back?! Hopefully the neighbors don't get mad!

Happy Birthday daddy!

Yesterday was daddy's birthday so we had a great celebration last night! We all went out to eat at Alexander's steak house - yummy! Daddy got a free slice of cake, too. Then we came back home and opened gifts. Sweetpea really liked playing with the tissue paper from daddy's gifts. Then I was going to post this last night, but daddy got an iPod shuffle for his birthday so all last night we were trying to figure out how to get music on that thing.

Earlier that day I took Sweetpea to Toys R Us and bought her a little chair for outside. It's a little big for her yet, but she's fine sitting in it as long as someone is nearby. Here's a picture of her sitting in her new chair. She's also becoming a pro at coming down off the couch safely. We worked on going down the stairs the other day, and she did pretty good at that, too.

The pool is all ready to go, now if the weather would decide what it wants to do that would be great. I am sick of cold and then hot and then cold. But, here's a short video of Sweetpea sitting by the pool with daddy. Before I started taking video she was splashing with her feet, but of course as soon as the camera was on she stopped. :)

Strawberries- yum!

Today was the strawberry fest. It was Sweetpea's second appearance at the festival, although this time she could actually walk around and do stuff. We rode the wagon ride, which is actually a bunch of barrels linked together. Sweetpea had fun doing that. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so I couldn't get a picture. :( She also got her first taste of Strawberry Pizza and loved it!

She loves almost anything, except lately she seems to have lost a taste for eggs. We went to breakfast Thursday morning with some of her friends and I ordered her a pancake and eggs. I put pancake on her plate first and then tried to trick her by putting eggs down, too. She picked the eggs up and placed them on the table by her plate and then continued eating the pancakes. Such a clever girl!

The other day she was pressing down a button on one of her toys and then getting really excited when the music would play. She kept pushing the button and making the music go. Here is a picture of her listening to the music that was making her so happy that day!

Water baby

Sweetpea was in the water a lot today! This morning we went swimming in the warm water pool, and it turned out to be a great day for that because it was cold and rainy outside. Sweetpea loved it!! She did end up with her whole face under water for a second, but she didn't mind it at all.
Then we came home and she took a long nap! This afternoon she ran some errands with me, and then tonight took a bath with daddy. She didn't want to get out of the bath, either. She was splashing all over the place!
I think more teeth are coming in because we had a few screaming fits today and they were screams of pain. Also, she's been putting her fingers in her mouth a lot today.
Here's a video of Sweetpea. We were watching a Baby Einstein video until I distracted her!
If you don't see a post for awhile it's because my camera is being a real pain. It's time for us to break down and buy a new one, so it may be a little while before I post again. But, I'll try to not wait too long! :)

Man's Weekend

Sweetpea's Grandpa Bob, Uncle Nate, and cousin Nathan came to visit this weekend. The girls were definitely outnumbered! We had lots of fun, though. Sweetpea let Grandpa Bob hold her a lot - I think she's finally beginning to realize that mommy and daddy aren't leaving and that it's ok for other people to hold her.

While the boys were golfing Saturday, Sweetpea and I went to a birthday party for one of her friends. It was a really nice day and they had kiddie pools out, so Sweetpea had fun playing with the water. She didn't really play with any of the other kids, though.

Nana Karen sent up a water table for Sweetpea, so we set it up on the porch and she played with it today. She loved it! She is definitely worn out from the weekend, though!

Coloring

Sweetpea has been really into coloring lately (of course it turns out to be just a few lines of color on the page, but it's a start!). Here's a video of her doing laps on the back porch and then stopping to color.
She also can find her toes now and we think she said "up" and "down" the other night. Very exciting! We have our first Kindermusik class tonight for the summer session - I think Sweetpea will be very excited to be singing again!

Happy Memorial Day!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day! I know I have been bad about posting lately and you can blame my sisters - they talked me into joining Facebook and now I'm obsessed! Eeek.

I'll try to be better! Sweetpea's Grandma and Grandpa E. came to visit yesterday. Grandpa E. and daddy worked on building a fence on the deck all afternoon. They finished it and it looks very nice! This way it'll be a lot harder for Sweetpea to find her way to the pool.

Today Noah came over to play. The weather was kind of rainy, so we stayed inside. Then tonight we went out to eat at Old Chicago. We did get our Memorial Day cookout in at lunchtime (daddy grilled burgers). Here's a little video of Sweetpea in her very cute outfit from Aunt Katie. I couldn't get a picture because the camera is not working well, so I just took a quick little video so you could see the outfit.

Pool party

Today, Sweetpea and Noah went to a pool party! It was a little baby pool. Sweetpea wasn't very into it, though. I guess the water was too cold! But, she had fun playing with the toys. Sweetpea has been playing peek-a-boo a lot lately. In the morning, when I go get her, she'll stay in her crib and put the blanket over her face and then pull it away, laughing! It's very cute.

She can also point out her belly button and her mouth. Here's a video of her showing off her belly! :)

Vegas, baby!

So, I returned safely from Vegas and had a great time! Unfortunately, I did not come back any richer. :( Since I've been back Sweetpea has been attached to daddy - she turned into a daddy's girl on me. But, she did say "mama" for me a few times yesterday which was nice.

Sweetpea has been obsessed lately with pulling all the tupperware out of the cabinet. She now knows exactly which cabinet drawers do not have locks on them and she goes to them automatically to pull stuff out. She's getting Noah into doing it, too. So, we're finding tupperware pieces all over the house!

She is also turning into quite the independent little girl. She likes to hold the spoon herself, hold her own hairbrush, and hold the toothbrush herself sometimes, too. She wants to grow up so fast!

Here's a picture of Sweetpea and I after I got back (and you can see how much of a daddy's girl she is now as she's screaming for daddy!). You can also see (sort of) my new haircut that I got before going to Vegas. I'm also including a short video of Sweetpea "organizing" my tupperware. (It's really short- I think maybe I didn't know it was on video and thought I was taking a picture!)

Weekend with daddy

Sweetpea is getting ready for her weekend with daddy! Hopefully it is a nice weekend - it's rainy this morning. But, in Vegas it's sunny in the 90s! :) Maybe I'll bring some nice weather back with me!

Sweetpea has been really into her belly lately, so here's a picture of her with her belly hanging out!

Night Owl

Sweetpea is still up and it's past 8:00! I think it is because she took a really long nap this afternoon. We were supposed to have a playdate at the park, but she slept right through it. We ended up going to the park when she woke up, but all her friends had already left. We stayed for a little bit, though, and did some swinging and walking around.
Here's a little video of Sweetpea pushing her mower around today - sorry for the poor lighting, but hopefully you can see it well enough.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mama's out there! :) We had a great mother's day - had brunch and then went to church. Then Sweetpea took a nap and I went out to do some shopping. She was a little cranky tonight so I put her in bed early, but I think she's just tired from a long weekend! Sweetpea's grandparents' Evans and great Nana and Reah came to visit this weekend. Saturday we did the Race for the Cure in the morning. We only did the mile walk, but then we walked about halfway back home so we got some exercise in! Then after Sweetpea took a little nap we went out to the mall and walked around a little bit. We had a great dinner out and enjoyed cake afterwards (although Sweetpea went to bed before the cake :)) to celebrate great Reah's and my upcoming birthdays.
Here is a little video of Sweetpea walking around at the mall on Saturday. She does not like to ride in her stroller now that she can walk!

Up early!!

Sweetpea got up at around 6:15 this morning - sheesh!! I was used to her getting up between 7 and 7:30 so that was not fun. I think her teeth on the top are really starting to push through now because she's been extra cranky and her nose has been running like crazy! Today we went to see daddy at his work for lunch. They grilled out for lunch so we went to visit him and his co-workers! Sweetpea had lots of fun exploring the building where daddy works - she wouldn't sit still at all!
Then tonight for dinner she had spaghetti and meatballs. We have been trying to introduce her to her fork but she just thinks it's so much easier to eat with her hands! But, tonight she actually used the fork a couple times. Granted, I had to steer the fork towards the food, but she made it from the food to her mouth!
Here's a video of her walking on the back porch.

Nice day!

What a beautiful day it turned out to be! I took the kids on a walk in the wagon and they loved it. I was a little worn out pulling them up hills, but it was good for me.

Sweetpea has been really into sitting in chairs lately, so we went outside for awhile this afternoon and she sat on a chair on the deck. We watched the birds flying around!

Daddy hasn't been feeling too well the last couple days. He thinks Sweetpea gave him what she had, but I hope not. I think she's finally getting over her coughing, but her nose has been running like crazy (probably partly because of those teeth trying to push through).

Here's a picture I took last week of Daddy reading Sweetpea a bedtime story.

Going to the zoo...

So, we went to visit my friend Kelli, her husband, and their boy Micah (who is such a cutie!!). We had lots of fun! It was a short visit, but we got to visit the zoo where they live. It was a really nice zoo - they had giraffes, elephants, lions, and a bunch of other animals. Sweetpea loved it! Unfortunately, I lost the tickets we had bought for the train ride, so while Kelli and her family were on the train we found a swingset that Sweetpea enjoyed. Here is a video of daddy pushing Sweetpea on the swing.

She is learning now how to stand up without having to hold on to anything, so she isn't slowing down! In fact, she's starting to go faster now, which means more falling down unfortunately. But, we're working on it!

Pudding everywhere!

So, we had our messy playdate today! Sweetpea had 3 of her friends over and, of course, Noah. We went in the garage and they played with pudding finger paint. Not too many Van Gogh's in the crowd, though. They preferred eating the pudding. Sweetpea started off painting a little, but near the end her mouth was blue from pudding. Then we stripped them all down to their diapers and they were running around the basement - it was like a diapers commercial! Very cute!

Here's a picture of our little Picasso! (of course this was before she started painting her onesie) :)

Golfer in the making.

Love the comments - thanks for posting! We love hearing from you! :) Here's a video of Sweetpea showing her golfing skills. Of course she was doing a lot more until I got the camera out, but that's how it goes.
Sunday morning Sweetpea slept until 9:00!!! I couldn't believe it! Of course, last night she didn't want to go to bed, but at least I got a weekend of sleeping in.
Today Noah came over, but he left early to go to the doctor. Turns out he has a respiratory infection and he's going to need to use a nebulizer so we'll be doing that for a few days. Poor guy. Since he left early, Sweetpea and I got some food shopping in. Now it is pouring buckets!! Hopefully it stops tomorrow because we have a messy playdate that I was hoping we could do outside to control the messiness. :) I'll keep you updated on how that goes!

Sleeping In

Sweetpea let me sleep in this morning until 8:00!! It was wonderful. I know some of you, namely my sister Christi, are saying that 8 is not sleeping in, but for me it definitely is! :)

We didn't do much else the rest of the day. It is really hot out, but it's been wanting to rain all day so we're waiting for it. I went and ran some errands. While I was gone daddy and Sweetpea went riding around in the wagon for a little bit. Tomorrow I am hosting a baby shower for my friend so tonight I am just going to get ready for that and relax. Here's a picture of Sweetpea hanging out wearing her Cardinals hat - I figured this was a good pic since they won today!

Messy!!

We had our first very, very messy dinner tonight!! Sweetpea had ravioli, which as you can see ended up everywhere! She loved it, though.

We enjoyed the beautiful weather today! When Noah was here I took them both on a ride in Sweetpea's wagon. Then this afternoon I took Sweetpea to the park. She managed to find a cookie lying on the ground that went into her mouth very quickly. Luckily, I fished it out, but a bunch of dirt got in there along with the cookie. Yuck!!
