In memory of...

Sweetpea lost her last great-grandparent on my side of the family early this morning. My Nana was a great model of strength and courage. She showed me the importance of standing up for yourself in life and of giving love to others. Every time she saw Sweetpea she had a present for her and Sweetpea has about 100 stuffed animals to show for it but she also will always remember that her great Nana loved her and thought about her every day (and every time she went shopping ;)). My Nana survived breast cancer, a miscarriage, the loss of her husband, and through all of that she remained positive, faith filled, and strong. I hope that Sweetpea will be like her as she grows up.

I pray that all of my grandparents are up in heaven now hanging out playing dominoes or cribbage and knowing that we miss them and love them all!!

Roller Skating Fun!

Sweetpea went roller skating for the first time! It was fun and she did a really great job - she even did it without holding our hands for a little while. Of course she fell on her bottom quite a bit but she just got right back up and kept going. Here's a video of her skating.

She has also been doing great at school and reading to us every night. I can't believe she will be 6 soon! She is looking forward to celebrating her birthday with family! I think this picture shows her excitement.

January fun

We have had lots of fun this month - having 4 snow days makes it even better! Sweetpea has been busy with Daisy scouts. They had an investiture ceremony where they all got pinned to make it official! Here is a picture of her at the ceremony with her BFF. (She tells me this is her BFF and that I am only her F)

She also got to participate in a dance at one of the high school basketball games. Here is a video of her breaking it down!

Christmas Fun

I know I am a bit behind, but we did have a wonderful Christmas break! It was great being able to go visit family for a little while. Sweetpea especially had fun with her Aunts Christi and Heather and Uncle Joe. They played Jack Frost and tried to save Christmas. Here is a video of Uncle Joe being Jack Frost!

We got a couple extra days to play at home before school started and that was great. We made snow ice cream and just relaxed. Of course, Sweetpea is glad to be back at school, though, playing with her friends. Here is a picture of her with all of her barbie dolls - we have played with the dollhouse a lot!!

Daisies and Skiing

We have been busy, busy, busy!! Sweetpea started her Daisy troop (to which I am the leader :)). The girls have lots of fun together and they will be caroling next weekend - that should be a hoot! Here is a picture of Sweetpea in her uniform.

Sweetpea also went skiing for the first time. We went with our friends and she had so much fun with her friends Ty and Leah. They played dress up and ran around the condo the whole time! She also did a great job skiing - not once did she give up! The last day she went down the hill 3 times without even falling once. We will definitely have to go skiing again! Here is a short video of her skiing. Unfortunately, my camera decided to die on vacation so I did not get many videos.

Now we are busy getting ready for Christmas! Hoping everyone has a very happy holiday!

Wonderful Big Sister!

Sweetpea has been such a good big sister to her brother! She always makes him smile! I got this cute pic of the two of them the other day!

We have been keeping very busy with school and playing with friends on the weekends. Sweetpea's class won a pajama party tomorrow so she is super excited about getting to wear pjs to school!!
Here is a video of her sliding into a pile of leaves that daddy raked up. She had tons of fun playing in the leaves! Good thing she got that play time in before the snow came. :)

Shining Star

Last weekend Sweetpea went to a theater workshop and learned a song and dance from the show Tarzan. This weekend they were able to perform it at an event called Worldwide Day of Play. Here she is performing. She is the one in the pink shorts - and sorry about the ending of the video but the teacher moved right in front of her so I stopped taping.
